Die Konferenz findet im Rahmen der Veranstaltungsreihe ›Ästhetik und Kritik‹ an der Universität Freiburg (CH) statt und wird von Emmanuel Alloa, Christoph Haffter und Arianna Sforzini organisiert.

Zur Forschungsgruppe

What are the critical functions of aesthetics today? How can aesthetics serve as an inquiry into the perceptual (aisthetic) modes of corporeal experience, and their social, technological and historical mediations ? How does the investigation of the sensible conditions of knowledge, the exploration of the imaginary grounds of political action or the engagement with artworks contribute to renewing an old task: the self-criticism of sensible reason?
The research group Aesthetics & Critique was founded in 2020 at the University of Fribourg. It aims at setting up a common platform for research in the field of the arts and society. Its permanent research workshop serves as a place where emerging as well as senior scholars can present and discuss new experimental venues for research.
